March Update

Dear Prayer Partners,

Sorry that we did not send out an update last week.  We, the Sunbergs were 
off in Central Asia and just returned this morning.  Our e-mail access was 
somewhat limited down there.

We want to praise the Lord for what He is doing in Central Asia and elsewhere 
around the CIS Field.

1)  We were able to visit the new church in Myasokombinat, Kazakstan.  
Elizabeth Kim is serving as Pastor.  What a blessing to visit in on this 
newest congregation.  They need our continued prayer support.  The 
congregation is mostly women and children.  The husbands like to gather 
together and drink.  Please pray that these men would come to know Jesus 
Christ!

2)  The church in Akkol, Kazakstan is growing and is planting a second church 
in their town.  

3)  The Lord certainly answered your prayers for Max in Moscow.  The 
extortionists DID NOT return.  This was our prayer.  Since that time, Max saw 
two of them out on the street.  They did not even make eye contact but, just 
walked off.  We believe that the Lord put his arms of protection around this 
wonderful young man who is serving the Lord!

4)  Tim Wetmore, NIVS from Kansas has been doing sports ministry in the town 
of Viasma, Russia.  A group of young soccer players have begun attending 
church, and as of this past Sunday, eight had accepted the Lord as their 
Savior!

Prayer Requests:

1)  The meeting with the Mayor of Viasma, Russia regarding the building 
permits was delayed.  The Mayor was called to a meeting at the Regional 
Office, and the meeting has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 7.  
We thank those who prayed and fasted for the 29th and ask that you would pray 
again for tomorrow's meeting.  We believe that God will intercede.

2)  Please pray for the registration of NCM in Creative Access Country #2.  
We have been told we will know the result within 10 days.

3)  Please pray for our upcoming District Assemblies on the CIS Field.  March 
15 will be the Russia South Assembly in Volgograd, Russia.  March 19 will be 
the Ukrainian District Assembly and March 25 will be the Russia North 
Assembly.  Dr. Knight and Dr. Franklin Cook will be able to attend the Russia 
North Assembly.  We ask for safety as people travel to attend the different 
assemblies.

4)  Please pray for the first-ever CIS Field Youth Conference which will be 
held May 5-7 in Volgograd, Russia.  

5)  Please continue to pray for the Norris family.  Lonnie will be back in 
Russia for the District Assembly in Volgograd next week.
