Youth Conference Update

We praise the Lord for how He answered prayer regarding the Youth Conference. 
 Last week when we shared the prayer request about the facility, we were 
overwhelmed with the wonderful responses from people around the world.  Word 
went out on Wednesday and so many of you prayed with your churches at 
Wednesday night prayer meeting.  Thank you so much.

We have continued to get reports as to how God answered prayer for the entire 
meeting.  In all, about 150 young people made it to the Youth Conference.  
Two young ladies from Kazakstan were turned away at the Russian border and 
had to go back home.  They were told their documents were not in order and it 
was very sad for them and their team of young people.  

One hour before the Kazakstan and Berdyansk teams arrived, the final 
arrangements were made for the conference.  The biggest miracle was that a 
private school, near our District Center in Volgograd, offered to house the 
meetings and open their cafeteria to feed our young people.  This facility, 
just two years before, had warned their children never to come near the 
Church of the Nazarene, or to be influenced by that sect.  What a miracle 
that suddenly they were helping make this conference a reality.  We all 
believe that this happened because of the prayers of God's people.  

Every evening I received phone calls updating me on the conference.  There 
was a real outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  On Saturday evening 100 young 
people went forward to pray.  Jon Mowry, missionary from St. Petersburg had 
preached the evening message. 

All of our graduates from European Nazarene Bible College led seminars.  Each 
District provided special music and special services.  On Sunday evening they 
presented their Word through drama.  It was very moving.  

Chuck reported that all felt the meeting had been a great success.  The Holy 
Spirit was so very real and present.  We believe that God is raising up a 
great group of young leaders here in the CIS that will continue to help build 
His church in the years to come.

part of a team that has made this conference a reality.
