Summer Update

Dear prayer partners,

I know that it has been far too long since you have heard from us on the CIS
Field. Summer seems to be the busiest time for all of us and we have been
all running everywhere.

Here are just some updates from the Field:

1) Please pray for the Mowry family. They have returned to the US to await
the arrival of their new child. The baby should be born around the end of
August or first of September. Kathy has been feeling better physically but
please continue to remember her in your prayers.
2) Viazma, Russia. All the building permits were obtained and the
foundation and concrete slabs have been laid. Praise the Lord! The first
Work and Witness team from Colorado is there now working on the building. A
second team will work on the building in a couple of weeks. We praise the
Lord that we have been able to move forward with this work.
3) VBS and Camps. We have had camps and VBSs held all over the Field. What
a wonderful time of being able to reach-out and minister to children. We've
had great reports from all the camps. One especially interesting event
happened in the town of Kasimov, Russia. A family read about the team being
there and holding a VBS in the local newspaper. They went and found Linda
Russell who was leading the team and invited some of them to their home.
They are believers who have been studying the Word together in their home
every Sunday. They were thrilled to be able to fellowship with our people.
Please pray that the Lord will guide in the future work in this town.
4) Students at NTS. Our students again were able to return to NTS to
continue their studies. We have 5 students studying there to get their
Master's degrees. They are all doing an excellent job. Please pray for
Tanya, Andrei, Svetlana, Vladimir and Sveta as they finish writing their
papers and do their coursework.
5) Theological Education. Please pray for our Pastor's and leaders who are
taking courses this summer. Last week Dr. Tim Green was in Chekov teaching
leaders from Russia and Ukraine. This week he is in Kazakstan doing the
same. Dr. Michael Lodahl is in Chekov this week teaching "Introduction to
Doctrine." A great group of students are there studying. We pray that God
will really minister to them in these days of studying and fellowshiping
together.
6) Construction in Kyiv. Please pray for the work on the ministry center in
Kyiv. As they began to do work on the roof structure of the building and
inspector visited the facility and shut down all work. He is requiring
certain permits to continue the work. Please pray for Cliff Wright and
Vladimir Massuik as they try to get past this roadblock and get back to
working on the building.
7) Contruction in Astana. Construction continues on the facility in Astana,
Kazakstan. Please pray that enough work will be completed in the coming days
that the facility will be useable during the coming winter months.

We praise the Lord for all the great things He is doing on the CIS Field.
Please continue to lift this work up to the Lord!

Thanks for praying.
