October Newsy Update

Greetings dear friends and prayer partners!

It is amazing to see how God works when we all begin to pray. I told you
about how cold it was here and the following day after I sent out the latest
prayer request, the warm weather rolled in. We have literally had sunshine
and "Indian summer" for the last 9 days. It is gorgeous. No problem with
not having heat. I've spoken to others on the Field and they have reported
the same type of beautiful weather.

Of course, it's interesting how God works. Yesterday I was talking to my
neighbor about a special concert which will be held here in Moscow next
Sunday evening. He said he really wanted to come but the problem was the
nice weather. He said if it would quit being so nice, his wife wouldn't make
him go to the dacha and work in the garden. He said, "I'm going to pray that
it's cold and rainy because I want to go to church." So, I have to confess
that I shouldn't be selfish and want the nice weather because I want our
people to be able to go to church too!

The folks in Kyiv have been able to have services in the building there,
despite the recent fire. They are having to deal with the local authorities
and having the repairs done to the building but all seems to be moving
forward. Unfortunately the work on the Wright's apartment continues to go
slowly. The workers have been repairing the church instead of completing the
Wright's apartment. They are now hoping that in two weeks they will be able
to move. Please pray for the Wrights as they continue to live in 'limbo'
waiting to be moved into their own apartment.

Michael Park reports that he is well and that the Lord really touched him.
Since the last prayer request he is now up and walking and back to work every
day. He is grateful for all your prayers. Please pray for Jill Moseley, the
new school teacher for the Park children. She is in Moscow today and will
travel by plane all night tonight to arrive in Astana tomorrow morning.

Jon Mowry reports that the Work and Witness team in St. Petersburg has done
an excellent job and has been a real blessing. Jon will return to the US
this week with the team to bring Kathy and the children back to Russia next
week. Please pray for them during all of their travels.

Lonnie and Connie Norris are in Volgograd hosting the current Work and
Witness team from Alabama which arrived in Volgograd on Sunday. Please pray
for them as they lead this team and provide support and leadership for our
Pastors and laypeople in the Volgograd area. This is their first time back
to the Field since Sarah's death and of course, there are many reminders of
Sarah there in Volgograd. The Norris' report that this is a good, and yet
emotional time. We pray for God's strength and support for them.

Kimberly Wagner, singer and songwriter will be traveling to Russia this week.
She has been working with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries for the last few
years and especially works in the area of Child Sponsorship. She will be
doing concerts in Russia and seeing different sites of Compassionate
Ministries' Work. Please pray especially for concerts in Kasimov, Russia.
We will be taking a medical team there along with Kimberly this next weekend.
We've already been informed to be careful about doing too much 'religious'
music and could the concert please be secular. Please pray that God will use
whatever we do for His glory!

Cinda Kammerman reports that she is doing well and will be having some
important meetings in the next few days. Please pray especially for her and
for wisdom to do the work in that part of the world.

Thank you so much for partnering with us in your prayers for the ministry in
the CIS. God is answering your prayers.
