Update

Dear Prayer Partners,

I want to apologize for the delay in responding to so many of you. Thank you
so much for your prayers for Kazakhstan. I wish I could tell you the results
but, I've been unable to find out what has happened. I have tried in several
ways to find out but so far we have received no news. I'm not sure that no
news is good news --- so, please continue to lift up Kazakhstan in your
prayers.

There are many wonderful things happening around the Field, and yet there are
some disturbing signs as well. Lonnie Norris said it well when he said it
seems like we take one step forward and then two steps backward. Lonnie
writes...

"I was just informed that the Volgograd City administration formally (in
writing) denied the Volgograd church's request to do an Easter park
celebration. They may do it anyway. I am talking about the Protestant church
association. I have asked for more details.
Also, Violet invited pastor Yuri to bring some sort of a greeting to the kids
she works with in her after-school social program. An Orthodox priest was
also there and spoke. His words (Yuri's) were wonderful according to Violet
but she was ridiculed and officially reprimanded for inviting him. "

Chuck and I returned on Saturday from a meeting and were greeted at the
airport by Pastor Volodya. He said he had some bad news and that we were
having trouble with the government office of registrations. They have placed
us "under control." We're not sure what all that means but there are people
here that feel that things are moving backward...to the way they used to be
under communism. Let us pray not! There is an important meeting with the
registration office in Moscow on Thursday and Friday this week. Please pray
with us.

Good news from Ukraine! This last weekend there were ministry teams in
Eastern and Western Ukraine. The team in Eastern Ukraine included a medical
team. They were only in a particular town for 1 day. The line was so
incredibly long to see the doctors, they were overwhelmed. Over 300 people
showed up. They kept the clinic open for 15 hrs but finally the doctors were
exhausted and had to go. Please pray that we may open a work in this town in
the Crimea.

While the doctors were out in the east, another team was out in Western
Ukraine. A group there was requesting membership classes. PTL. Bob and
Colleen Skinner, along with national workers, and their children headed out
west. Colleen and the children led special services for the children, while
the adults studied about the Church of the Nazarene. We praise the Lord for
our missionary kids who are missionaries in their own right!

Next week the first Work and Witness team to Ukraine for this year arrives.
Please pray for the team and leaders.

A week from Saturday a Medical/Construction team from Florida -- and a few
other locations will arrive. We are anticipating seeing 1000 patients in 1
week. Please pray for this medical team and their ministry.

Thanks so much for supporting us in prayer. We appreciate our friends and
prayer partners!
