Updates and requests
Dear Prayer partners,
Thank you so much for praying for Heike Wright. We are so grateful for all
your prayers and we continue to pray for God's touch on her body.
Please continue to pray for Sherry Pinson and her family. Her stepdaughter
Rachel continues to respond to the chemotherapy. Her tumor continues to
shrink and we praise the Lord for this. Unfortunately this week Fred,
Sherry's husband received another serious blow. His sister died very
suddenly. He is in shock over this sudden death and the continued illness of
Rachel. Please continue to lift this family to the Lord in prayer. Sherry
is such a vital member of the CIS partnership.
We received news that the government in Chekov, Russia has declined our
request for registration of the youth center at this time. We are very
disappointed but we are not beaten! It seems that there will be a change in
command in this office in Chekov in the very near future and we are hopeful
that we will be able to reapply for this registration. The registration is
important because the Russian government requires all individuals to register
within 72 hours of arrival at any location. We cannot register people at the
Youth Center, until the building itself is registered. This means that when
we have week-long classes, the police usually arrive right after the 72 hour
period to check documents. It is a frustration but we are able to work with
it for now. It would simply be much easier if we could complete the
registration process. Please continue to pray for this situation.
We have received reports that camps have gone very well across the CIS this
summer. Many young people have committed or recommitted their lives to the
Lord. Please pray for the VBS in Viazma, Russia this week.
Thanks for praying.
