CIS Prayer: UPdate
Here's the news today from Michael Park...
Dear All, Thank you very much for your prayers. I was not able to tell you the details before the problem was solved. Now that the problem has been solved I can tell you a bit more. Several days ago I received a message from the Tax Office. They charged us a huge fine for something they found to be wrong in the documents for Astana Mission Center. The construction was finished 3 years ago. When the construction was finished we didn't have any problems, but after three years they found something and they were making a huge problem out of this. This is something that doesn't happen at all in other cities, but because this is the capital city, which makes this city unique, this kind of stuff happens. They wanted us to pay a huge amount of money to them. So, we had an emergency meeting and looked for ways to solve this. We weren't able to find anyone who could help us, or anything to do. The amount was about the size of the construction fund of the whole Mission Center. In the case of not paying the fine, they were going to confiscate all the property and land that was owned by us, by Elizabeth and anyone who was connected to the construction of the building. This would have ruined the lives of many people. All we could do was to pray. Of course, Elizabeth did everything she could, but she realized that the problem was too big for her alone to solve. So, we all had to pray together. I asked the congregation to pray with us. Many fasted and prayed all night together. Thankfully, the manager of the tax office that was so stubborn about this matter the day before, was so kind to us after the full night prayers and the fasting of the people. Your prayers were a major part of it. When Elizabeth came to the person in charge of this matter the next day, she helped us very much and worked with Elizabeth all day to cancel the fine and work the documents properly. Her attitude changed 180 degrees in just one night! Elizabeth herself was so surprised at this sudden change of attitude that she could not believe this was the same person that she was talking to the day before. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! We drove her home after working all day with her. When we arrived she said, "I never could trust any other people that had trouble with our office before, but when I was talking to you and saw your papers, I felt in my heart that I could trust you. That you are not lying." God has heard our prayers and has changed her heart! Everybody who knew what was going on could plainly see that only God could have done this wonderful miracle. Everybody could see the power of prayer. Thank you very much for your prayers. Please send this on to the people that were praying for us. Thank you again and praise the Lord. Michael
