CIS Prayer: Ukrainian Prayer
Dear Friends,
Kyiv is at its best in May with its famous chestnut trees in bloom and lilac bushes scenting the air. At every street corner little old ladies sell bunches of lily of the valley. This is a busy time for us with many ministries getting under way and volunteers starting to arrive.
-We are thankful for a great youth congress in Moscow a few days ago.
-You have been praying for the ministry of our JESUS film team - one of the outreaches they did reaped results of a different nature than we usually expect: Natasha one of the team members met a young man from a village where they were ministering and is getting married to him next month! Pray for them as they prepare for their wedding and that God would bless their marriage. In fact several more young couples will get married soon, pray for them to have godly marriages that would be an example to others in this country where broken homes are so common.
-The mom of Clarence Rose, our Work and Witness coordinator passed away recently and Clarence and Sue had to leave while a team was here to return to the States for the funeral. Please pray for God's comfort for Clarence and his family.
-Our first volunteer arrives next week. Pray for Alisha Pluff as she gets settled that she would quickly be able to fit in with the team here and for wisdom how to use her skills wisely.
-Kolya will be graduating from European Nazarene College in June. Pray for him and his wife Katya who is expecting their second child. Especially for the Lord to make clear what Kolya's ministry is to be.
-Our next class taught by a visiting professor will begin in another week or so. Pray for Dr. Ray Hundley as he comes to teach introduction to the New Testament here in Kyiv and in Vinnitsa.
When I am aware of specific answers to prayers I try to point them out, but I was thinking that there are many that we probably aren't even aware of: things like God keeping us safe while we travel. This is an ongoing concern and we are thankful for His protection. Also our health is an ongoing concern and again we are thankful that we are all doing well. Please continue to pray for these aspects as well as continued guidance and wisdom for our work.
Thank you for your prayers!
In His Service,
Heike
