Praise the Lord!
Dear Prayer Partners,
We are praising the Lord today! The Church in Volgograd received its
registration yesterday. They were so excited that they threw a party at the
district office in Volgograd. We praise the Lord for this answer to prayer.
The government office of registration even told us that it would now be easy
for the rest of our churches in the Volgograd area to be registered!
Other prayer requests:
1) The boiler in the new church in Akkol, Kazakstan is not functioning and
is undergoing repair. Please pray that this will be done quickly as it is
VERY cold there right now.
2) Tanya Arakcheeva, Pastor at Moscow First Church is supposed to attend a
course at Nazarene Theological Seminary at the end of January. The US
Embassy has refused to give her a visa. We praise the Lord that we were able
to schedule a second interview with the embassy on January 18. Please pray
for this meeting. She is scheduled to leave on January 20.
3) First Church in Viazma is submitting plans to the local government to
expand the building on their property. The church has grown in size that it
fills their building every Sunday. All plans have been submitted and the
proper documentation completed. We simply require one additional signature
for this approval to be completed. Unfortunately the assistant Mayor in
Viasma has refused to give this final signature. When asked why, he simply
responded that he didn't want to sign the paper. Please pray that God will
work in this man's heart and the paperwork will be completed. The
foundation needs to be put in this Spring.
4) We praise the Lord for the wonderful Christmas services which were held
in a number of our churches on January 7. In Pitimorsk it was reported that
10 people accepted Christ on Russian Christmas and in Viasma, 4 came to the
Lord. Kyiv First Church reports that the building was packed on Christmas
day. The young people were off on a winter retreat and had they been there,
there would have been no room for them! We praise the Lord for what He is
doing to build His kingdom.
