Thanks to all who have prayed for the needs on the CIS Field.  Here are some
updates on two of the prayer requests:

1.  Lonnie Norris reports from Volgograd that he is doing well and in good
spirits.  He reports that since he was gone on furlough, the district as gone
ahead and done very well.  Two of the churches have grown 15-20% in the last
6 months.

Lonnie reported that he and Connie helped the nationals plan everything for a
camp but, then let the local leadership run everything.  Ninety attended the
kid's camp. 14 kids accepted Christ for the first time and many made new
commitments.  Sunday night 140 crowded into our district center for the camp
finale program.

Lonnie reports that he is not doing any preaching or teaching.  He says that
he is being very careful as he knows he is under the watchful eye of the
"authorities."  Lonnie has received word that the Protestant Association in
Moscow (of which we are members) will be extending an "invitation" to Lonnie
which may resolve the current problem.  Another problem is that the local
authorities have refused to confirm the re-registration of the local churches
in Volgograd.  They are simply holding up the paperwork.  We ask for your
continued prayers in this situation!

2.  Mario and Lena Russ, Pastor and wife of our church in Viasma, Russia.  On
Friday, September 3, Lena gave birth to a healthy baby boy via C-section!  We
praise the Lord that Lena and the baby are healthy.  Linda Russell was in
Viasma on Friday and was able to help Mario and Lena.  The hospital refused
to deliver the baby until they could provide 110 syringes, 45 vials of
Amoxicillin, 30 vials of gentamyacin,  and 15 vials of another medication.
Linda and Mario scoured the town's pharmacies looking for these supplies.
They were pleased to have found everything they needed and on Friday morning,
the baby was delivered.  We now pray for Lena's recovery from the surgery.
She will not be released for 12 days, and the family will not be able to see
the baby until then.
