Dear Prayer Partners,
We are so grateful for you all and your faithful and prayerful support of the
work in the CIS. The Lord continues to do great things and we know that you
are all a part of that work.
Praises:
1) The "Good News" Church of the Nazarene was organized on Sunday, December
12 in Viasma, Russia. The church is starting with 10 charter members.
Please pray for this new church.
2) The Volgograd, Russia ministry team is working hard on the new building
in Kollach. A Bible Study group is meeting there regularly on Sunday
afternoons. They hope to soon organize into a new church.
3) First Church in Astana, Kazakstan is growing and has had to go to two
services on Sunday mornings. The building holds 80 and they are running
around 125 at this time. They are building a new sanctuary on their property
for 350. They are so excited about what God is doing!
4) Cliff Wright is doing well holding down the fort in Ukraine. They are
certainly missing the Skinners who are on furlough. Cliff is working
diligently to get the heating system into the building there in Kyiv. While
we received funds for the heating system (Praise the Lord), we are having
trouble getting the gas connected and the boilers through customs. Please
pray for our boilers!
Prayer Requests:
1) Please pray for the Christmas program in Volgograd. Usually they have
held this program in a large city auditorium but, this year the city would
not rent them the auditorium. The program will be held in the Seven Winds
Church but they will not be able to reach out to as many people as usual.
2) Please continue to pray for the re-registration in Volgograd. We are
still awaiting the stamp of approval from the local authorities.
3) Please pray for the Christmas Program in Astana. They will be able to
present it in a city auditorium and are expecting over 400 in attendance.
4) Please pray for the new Jesus Film team in Ukraine.
5) Please pray for Kathy Mowry and her family. Kathy's mother is quite ill
and needs our prayers.
6) Please pray for our Prayer Vision Team. If you would like to be a part
of this team of prayer partners who will visit sites in the CIS, please
contact Bobbi Smisko at bobbismisko@erols.com
7) Please pray for our upcoming Medical Team to Northern Russia and Ukraine.
The team will be coming in April. If you are a medical worker and are
interested in joining this team, please contact Carla Sunberg at
CarlaSun@aol.com
8) Please pray for the war situation in Chechnya. It is terrible. The son
of our Pastor at Seven Winds is currently serving there in Chechnya. He was
supposed to be released from the Army but has not yet returned home. Please
pray for the remaining Christians in Grozy. The Baptist church there has
been nearly destroyed and the two Pastors have been killed.
Thank you so much for praying!
