Information on how to send packages

The missionaries and staff of the CIS field are already planning ways to minister to the people in the winter months ahead.
One of the greatest needs is used clothing.
Please note:
  • All sizes and types of clothing are needed
  • Please do not send new clothing as the value must be declared in the customs declaration
  • It is very helpful if the clothes are clean
  • Do not send clothes that need repair
  • Please do not send used underwear
  • Please do not send jeans with holes; this is an American fashion

Mixed with the clothing you may send one-gallon Ziploc bags containing the following:
(Please note: use generic products whenever possible, as the actual cost must be declared to customs.)
  • 1 deodorant
  • 1 bottle of generic ibuprofen 200mg (200 tabs)
  • 1 tube of Neosporin
  • 1 generic package of Band-Aids (50 strips)
  • 1 package of generic antihistamine (diphenhydramine)
  • 1 package of Halls Mentholyptus
  • 1 tube of Chapstick
  • 1 small bottle of shampoo
  • 2 washcloths
  • 2 hand towels
  • 2 disposable pens
  • 1 spiral notebook
  • 1 toothbrush
  • 1 tube of toothpaste
  • 1 pkg. of 10 disposable razors (men’s bags)
  • 1 small pkg. feminine hygiene pads (women’s bags)
  • Crayons and a coloring book (children’s bags)

Please send the packages by surface mail only*. THE COMBINED VALUE OF THE CONTENTS OF THE PACKAGE AND THE POSTAGE MUST BE UNDER $100. If it is over $100, then the missionaries must pay import duties and taxes on the shipment. Please value new items (Ziploc bag contents) at the purchase price. Value the used items at garage sale prices. Please remember to include the postage cost in the customs declaration. Your local post office can help you complete the customs forms.
